Where to start... if you don't want to read all the details, save yourself some headache and go with a different unit (the Haier unit looks good and as people have said on the reviews of that product- buy it locally so you can return it or get support...).

First off, this is our 3rd product from Laundry Alternative - we tried the WonderWash and Spin Dryer Jr (I'll try to post reviews of those products separately, but suffice it to say both worked far better than this unit). The reason we tried this unit is because we have a new baby and live on a boat and are cloth diapering so the wonder wash was just too time consuming.

I'll start with the good parts - yes it actually cleans clothes, and dirty diapers fairly well (better than we expected and probably as well as most other typical / normal washing machines I've used, despite only being able to use cold water per the manual). Where do I begin? I received my brand new lil washer machine today. Couldn’t be more excited to do laundry! After 12 years of schlepping to the laundry mat, dodging cars to cross the street, counting pennies to convert to quarters, I finally invested in my own private washing machine.
I have to admit, this is my 3rd attempt at buying a portable washing machine in the last month. One of the main reasons why I made a decision to make this type of purchase is that the laundry-mat disgusts me.
After 10+ years of going to the Ol coin op, I finally had it. I did a load of wash, and when it was done, I took my clothes out and everything was covered in Dog/ Cat hair. EVERYTHING was covered. IM highly allergic to dogs and cats and thankfully the laundry manager was there when this happened. She gave me quarters to re-wash my clothes. Excellent little washing machine. Shipping was really fast, got it in one day by fedex. It took me a few tries to connect the water hose but once I got it I was very satisfied. I did a few loads, it fits about two yoga pants, two shirts and some socks and underwear at once. I am very happy with the purchase. Living in an apartment with small children and going to the laundromat few times a week is a real hassle. With this machine I can wash a small load every night and not have to drag my kids in the cold. It is pretty quiet compared to the haier which I had a few years ago. I can fit it under my table and no one will know I have it. Upon request the seller made the box discreet so when the fedex guy delivered it no one knew what it was. Thank you laundry alternative.

this is a great product, offers lots of room to dry your clothes & shoes. sturdy, stable and will not collapse on itself even when a naughty cat jumps up on it. this folds down quite thin & can be tucked away just about anywhere.

Pros: lots of space when in use & a space saver when not in use

Cons: doesn't fold the laundry for you

We do cloth diapers (prefolds and covers) and wanted a rack, both to save a little $$ and to let the sun bleach out stains.
This rack does the job. It's big enough to hold 2-3 days worth of prefolds, anywhere from 20-24 prefolds, plus covers (see uploaded pictures for a visual!).
It is very sturdy and doesn't tip over BUT be careful not to bump the supports that hold up the "wings"! They don't lock into place and if you hit one at the right angle, it collapses that side. This is why I didn't give it 5 stars.
I love how it folds down so compactly and is light enough to carry in one hand down a flight of stairs and outside while toting a basket of wet diapers in the other. It's a great drying rack!

This is the first larger drying rack I've owned. I own an accordian wooden kind but I wanted something bigger. I like the size of it and really like that it has the shoe holders (that sold me on it). This has only been used inside and today when I opened it I saw a little rust on the edge where I would put my clothes so that's not impressive. I suppose when the weather gets warm again I can spray some spray paint to combat any rust. Not the best quality and it's a little clumsy to spread it out but it works and I'm sure I'll be able to use it for many years because I'll treat it gently but if I were a serious air dryer then I would spend the money on a better version or a larger wooden rack.
